Lemonade Pet Insurance was crafted by veterinarians to provide peace of mind for when the unexpected happens, enabling pets to receive the care they need without concern over cost.
Founded in 2015, the innovative company was one of the first insurance providers to harness artificial intelligence to process claims more efficiently, resulting in lightning-fast reimbursements and a hassle-free experience managed exclusively through the app.
With a wide range of add-ons and customizable terms, you can create a bespoke plan that allows you to only have to pay for the coverage you need. And, by bundling your pet protection with auto or renter's insurance, policyholders stand to save hundreds of dollars per year.

Additional Policy Riders
Apart from its wellness plans, Lemonade offers other add-ons known as "policy riders" that expand your plan's coverage and enable you to get reimbursed for additional types of veterinary expenses.
These can be especially helpful for owners of pets whose breeds are known to have certain hereditary conditions. For example, if your dog may be more prone to cruciate ligament conditions, you might want to add the Physical Therapy rider to your policy for additional peace of mind in the event of an injury.
Here is the complete list of Lemonade Pet Insurance coverage add-ons you can choose from:
- Vet Visit Fees: covers the cost of examinations related to eligible accidents and illnesses
- Physical Therapy: covers the cost to treat functionality issues caused by an unexpected injury or illness including modalities such as hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and chiropractic care
- Dental Illness: covers diagnostics, treatments, procedures, and medications related to a new dental illness, such as periodontal disease, up to $1,000 per year
- Behavioral Conditions: covers diagnostics and treatments administered by a vet or licensed behavioralist for eligible conditions, such as separation anxiety, phobias, excessive barking, aggression, and destructive behaviors, with an annual limit of $1,000 (visit fees and medications are included within the base plan's annual limit)
- End-of-Life and Remembrance: covers expenses such as vet-recommended euthanasia, cremation, and commemorative items (such as an urn, paw prints, digital photos, and even a tattoo), but excludes costs related to a funeral, burial, taxidermy, mummification, and cloning
Note: All Lemonade Pet policy riders are subject to your plan's co-insurance, annual deductible, and waiting period. Not all packages and add-ons may be available to all pets or in all states.

You can cancel your Lemonade Pet policy anytime via the app. But remember, canceling means waiting periods will reset, and any pre-existing conditions will impact future policies. A 30-day money-back guarantee is available, except in NY and IN.
Here is the exact language used to describe Lemonade's cancellation policy:
“If you need to cancel your policy for any reason during your policy term, you can do it totally for free, and we’ll refund you for the unused portion of your premium.
So no worries, your insurance policy term doesn’t mean you’re bound to your insurance policy for that period of time. It just represents the length of time you can have an active insurance policy before renewing it."
